RECORD STORE DAY 2010

For Record Store Day this year, the incredibly talented AXE AND THE OAK invited me to make some vrrrry special, vrrrrrry limited edition album covers. They wanted something super simple with a little bit of a throwback feel, so we came to an agreement on the final design, BUT to make it extra special, I decided to handmake each one! They are an addition of 50 and each one is hand stamped and hand embossed, front and back, with a rubber stamp that I had custom made from the original artwork. It was soooo much fun to make and, though each has its own small imperfections, they came out pretty dope. And I have to say that doing something handmade really fits this band...they are perfectionists in both the studio and onstage. The minimal look also fits them because, well, thats just their steez...I can't really explain it. Anyway...here are some photos and if you want to see them live for the release, they'll be playing at RADIOACTIVE RECORDS in FT. LAUDERDALE tonight!!! go support good music and snazzy design

STUNT MONTH AFTER MONTH

a few months back i was approached by SF company, StunneroftheMonth.com, to do a poster for their press kit. Its a pretty dope idea for a company: you pay for a (very affordable) monthly subscription, and each month they send you a new pair of "stunners" so you can look like you're super cool! Stunners are sunglasses. And the subscriptions can be short or long, and even given as gifts. So yeah...this is the poster. I really am happy with it and have been waiting to get it in for awhile now, because I was dying to post it. I actually drew it from a friend's facebook photo which is always weird....like, "hey....I swear I'm not like, obsessed with you or anything, but are you cool with the fact that I have searched through all of your fb pics and found this one that I want to draw???" Alright, so maybe its not quite that weird because I actually looked through everyones fb photos for some reference of fun loving, sunglassed coolkids, but you know what I mean... anyway, they are for sale at my webstore, so checcccccck it out!

OH HELL YEAH

This is the work from my very first solo show that opened April 1, 2010. I got to hang my work in the Kidrobot Gallery on Collins Ave, Miami, FL. let's get started!

first up, the title piece of the whole thing:
OH HELL YEAH approx 4ft x 8ft Acrylic on seven layers of Plexi

HIGH LIFE 4ft x 4ft Acrylic on Panel

TINY VICES 4ft x 4ft Acrylic on Panel

and of course, I had to do an alphabet!
MIAMI VICE 6in x 6in and 13in x 13in, plexi mounted print

i had prints for sale (which are also available at my online store):
RICH AS FUCK 18in x 24in print

and of course some tees to match the title piece (these turned out amazing and are for sale on my web store...5 color screen print...so hotttt!), as well as the Married to the Mob tees from last spring:

and thats about it! it was amazing to finally get a chance to show what I can do. Thanks to all of the people who came and everyone who helped out. esp my parents <3
