NFA'S WRECKHALL: Rudy Duboue Collabo 1

For the last few weeks, I have been working on a special little project for the boys over at NFA.  Their new weekly party, WRECKHALL at Chalk, has become the best spot on the beach to catch good local vibes with my favorite local DJs (Keen One, Louie Arson and TonyG).

Every week my friend, the incredibly talented Rudy Duboue, has been snapping candid party shots that are so sick I started to draw them for the flyers (check out the pary pics here).  I pick my favorite image from the previous week and freak it on some Jessy Nite Tropical steez for the flyers.  Here are the ones I've done so far:

BEST COAST

I love Best Coast...they are the best girl time, sun time, high time band.  One of their songs happens to be one of my all time fav songs, too, so I knew I wanted to crush it for their poster.  My doggies over at Iron Forge Press posted up some proofs yesterday, so take a peek...theyre a little dark, but theyre looking sooo crisppppp!  I will have them on my webstore next week!!!

PRIMUS POSTER: sneak peek

oh mennnnng I am so siked to get to do yet ANOTHER gig poster with the dopesssssst printers around, Iron Forge Press. This time around, the band is PRIMUS!!! SO COOOOL!!!

I have been trying to keep the Fillmore/S FL gig posters looking tropical, but still keep them band appropriate, which was extra hard for primus haha...but then after watching a bunch of their old vids I remembered how seriously silly they could be. Then I thought about my seriously burning love for cheesey tropical ish. (Anyone who knows me, knows that my fav department store is the tropical wear section of Walgreens...fo rillll!) Sooooo...I just mixed em together with some vintage postcard appeal and blammmo!!! The end product turned out pretty silly. I can't wait to see it printed and be able to share it, but here are some closeups til then :)

Sooo, I am really lucky to have such classy people interested in my werrrrk. For real tho...when I continue to churn out art with such a high level of taste and tact, its no surprise that I get awesome pictures like this from Tera. She keeps those million dollar killer poodles next to that which is closest to her heart....Night Train. Man...I am really the happiest right now!!!

A VERY KINKY KRIZMAS!

Ho Ho Hoeeeee and jingle my ballz...its christmas time again! And hey guess what....I care about Christmas even less than ever hahaha. But, I DO care enough to squeeze in a most incredible gift for YOUUUUU. Okay, so this is technically from a porno christmas coloring book I made for a friend, but lets not accuse me of re-gifting....its allll luuuuuvvvv....

So yeah....envoke the holiday spirit by printing out and coloring-in this hot centerfold bittttccchhhh. OR make a friend merry by giving them the gift of porn...it worked for me! But for real...i wish the warmest, happiest, positiviest year to errrrybody!

LCD SOUNDSYSTEM x SLEIGHBELLS

here is another sickkkkk production setup from the boys at IronForgePress! this is from the LCD Soundsystem and Sleighbells show right here in Miami. Its seven color, metallic, fluorescent, amazing!!! MELVINS...HOT OFF THE PRESSSSSSS!!!

check it outttt! here are some process photos from the Melvins and Totimoshi poster i did with the amazing Iron Forge Press! Its seven colors and the first real screen printing project I've ever done, so it was a crazy learning experience. I can't wait til the LCD Soundsystem and Sleighbells poster comes out...its gonna be a neon miami explosion....

A NITE AT THE DYNAMO

I am going to be part of a talk about the "Thoughts on Democracy" exhibition that ran at the Wolfsonian in 2008. Come on by this Friday, July 23 from 7-9 PM...it looks like we are going to be in the in the Wolfsonian's Dynamo Cafe...its super cool and the Wolf is one of my favorite Miami spots so come support and learn some stuff! STUNT MONTH AFTER MONTH

a few months back i was approached by SF company, StunneroftheMonth.com, to do a poster for their press kit. Its a pretty dope idea for a company: you pay for a (very affordable) monthly subscription, and each month they send you a new pair of "stunners" so you can look like you're super cool! Stunners are sunglasses. And the subscriptions can be short or long, and even given as gifts. So yeah...this is the poster. I really am happy with it and have been waiting to get it in for awhile now, because I was dying to post it. I actually drew it from a friend's facebook photo which is always weird....like, "hey....I swear I'm not like, obsessed with you or anything, but are you cool with the fact that I have searched through all of your fb pics and found this one that I want to draw???" Alright, so maybe its not quite that weird because I actually looked through everyones fb photos for some reference of fun loving, sunglassed coolkids, but you know what I mean... anyway, they are for sale at my webstore, so checcccccck it out!
